The longest time in an abdominal plank position is 8 hours, 1 minute and was achieved by Mao Weidong in Beijing, China in 2016, but how long can your team hold the plank for?

Take on this epic challenge and see how long you can hold a plank for as part of a sponsored relay within your team. Compete against other teams and encourage others to sponsor your team and help us raise funds for our work with young people.

The winning team receives a complementary 6 month gym membership for OPEN Gym, with runner up prizes including free tickets to fantastic gigs & events here at OPEN.

Please complete our Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) form for each team member and bring with you.


•Each member of your team takes it in turns to hold a plank for as long as they can. As soon as their knees drop the next member of the team takes their position as the timer continues to roll on.

•You can choose between forearm or straight are plank or a mixture of both.

•You have 15 seconds to swap between team members.

•The team will the longest accumulative time wins a prize.

•There is also a prize for the individual who holds the plank for the longest time.

•Our umpires Rob & Loren of Focus 4 Fitness will be on hand to offer any help should you need it.
