About Free gallery featuring photographs of acid survivors

Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI) is hosting a photo exhibition featuring the works of Ann-Christine Woehrl at the Leyden Gallery in Spitalfields, East London.

Ann-Christine, in collaboration with ASTI and its local partners, travelled to Bangladesh, India, Cambodia, Nepal, Pakistan and Uganda to capture the daily lives of survivors of acid attacks. She gives us an intimate glimpse into the day-to-day activities of survivors as they revuild their lives. Her photographs capture the exceptional resilience and courage of survivors as well as their moments of despair and joy.

These photographs are part of Ann-Christine's long-term project IN/VISIBLE.

Ann-Christine is currently continuing her owrk in Colombia and the UK.

The exhibition will run from the 13th to the 16th of September.

A presentation of the IN/VISIBLE book and talks on the issue will take place.
